  1. When I saw Cha Cha Real Smooth was out last week, I was excited beyond belief. But this movie felt deeper and Cooper Raiff's character seemed to have matured more in this movie (I know they're different characters but they seem so similar). Now I'm totally sold on his directorial and acting style, it's so intimate and funny.

  2. Jul 2, 2022 · So I watched CHA CHA REAL SMOOTH last week and was really taken by it. It's a small, character-driven coming-of-age-story, which I know I have a soft spot for, but I've got to say as someone incredulous and a bit jealous that a 25-year-old had just had his film win Sundance and optioned for $15M, the film really won me over.

  4. Jun 21, 2022 · It’s clear why so many critics have found Cha Cha Real Smooth endearing: It’s comfort cinema. There are no sharp judgments, no interrogation that pierces beneath the surface. Its elementary truths wrap around viewers like a warm blanket, reminding them of how cold the world can be, and how warm it could be with better people.

  6. Jun 28, 2022 · Man I thought you were talking about the song. 🤡. Fucken incredible. Really fun and deeply relatable for anyone who went to a lot of mitzvahs as a kid. Fun dialogue, but I gotta deduct a few points because Cooper Raiff can't distinguish between the way autistic people talk from the way that androids talk.

  7. Jun 17, 2022 · I loved this movie. Top 3 for sure. Had a feeling from the start that they weren’t going to end up together, but like the movie says, falling in love is easy, but growing up is hard. As someone with misophonia, I had to mute one of the most important scenes because of the sound of them biting those popsicles 😫.

  8. Jan 24, 2022 · I felt Cha Cha was a better movie probably because it can actually connect with you a bit. Dual is mostly just funny, but the humor is dark and so unimaginably dry and deadpan that's it hard to actually connect to anything. That's my opinion of course. YMMV While I enjoyed Dual and got a good kick out of the humor, it didn't resonate with me at ...

  9. Jun 18, 2022 · Seeing a lot of posts about Lightyear; nothing on this weekend’s director-driven new release. I liked Shithouse, and there are things to like about Cha Cha Real Smooth (other than the title), but Cooper Raiff’s not the American indie savior we’ve been looking for.
