Famagusta (UK: / ˌ f æ m ə ˈ ɡ ʊ s t ə, ˌ f ɑː m-/ FA(H)M-ə-GUUST-ə, US: / ˌ f ɑː m ə ˈ ɡ uː s t ə / FAH-mə-GOO-stə), also known by several other names, is a city on the east coast of the illegally occupied areas and de facto state Northern Cyprus of the Republic of Cyprus.
Famagusta, major port in the Turkish Cypriot-administered portion of northern Cyprus. It lies on the island’s east coast in a bay between Capes Greco and Eloea and is about 37 miles (55 km) east of Nicosia. The port possesses the deepest harbor in Cyprus.
