You’ll want to start from Hyehwa Station, exit 2. There are signs along the way, but check out the map below for more details. Once you get past the restaurants and cafes near the main road, you’ll be on a road that pretty much takes you up and over and it’s easy to follow along until you want to come down again.

- Ihwa Mural Village Was a Refugee Neighborhood. As mentioned, Ihwa Mural Village is one of Seoul’s oldest localities. Today, at a superficial glance, Ihwa doesn’t look that different from other high-class Seoul neighborhoods.
- The Village Has Over 70 Murals. Again, as part of the ‘Art in the City’ campaign, many artists came to Ihwa to leave their mark. Currently, there are around 70 murals in the township.
- You Can Leave Your Mark on the Village. Some murals are more interactive, allowing you to put your mark on the neighborhood. For example, there’s this one near some of the older houses (pictured above).

May 26, 2020 · Ihwa-dong in Jongno-gu is one of Seoul’s main tourist attractions frequented by both locals and tourists. The Seoul City Wall trail of Naksan Park naturally leads to Ihwa-dong Mural Village, and unique cafes and picturesque shops line up along the alleyway.
