This canopy of clover was sketched by Kate Hawkins during lockdown. Traditionally the individual leaves of a four-leaf clover symbolise hope, faith, love and luck. In each repeat there is a four-leaf stem hiding in plain sight among the more common crop of three-leaf clovers.
Kate Hawkins (b. 1980 Southampton) is an artist based in London. She is also Creative Director of CommonRoom, an artists’ interiors company that she founded in 2014 after completing her PhD at Winchester School of Art.
I designed this wallpaper for CommonRoom in April 2020 just as I was emerging from a nasty bout of covid. She has extensive experience working in private practice, GP clinics, community mental health services, schools and family services.
