  4. Feb 13, 2010 · UFixit. If your fire is generating mist but it's not coming out through the vents above the bulbs, the fan has probably failed. Replacement from Dimplex or other spares providers is a ridiculous £40 plus. On eBay you can buy the same basic fan - look for a 24V 60 x 60 x 28 blower - for less than £6.

  5. Feb 29, 2020 · Many thanks Gigagator - all advice welcomed. However, I replaced the ultrasonic mister device as part of trying to find the fault. But the cutting out continues at 10mins every time. Leave it for an hour then switch off/on on the toggle switch at the front of the fire - then, using the remote, it’ll fire up for 10mins!

  7. Nov 18, 2019 · I have a Dimplex Danville opti-myst electric fire, and have an issue with it. When turning on the fire, the bulbs light up, the mist starts coming out, after 20 seconds it shuts off. Then it starts up again on its own, and continuously does that. I believe the transducer is working fine, but the fan doesn't seem to be working as far as I can see.

  8. Feb 13, 2010 · NEVER use the more usual 12V Halogen type lighting supply to replace it with, as these are AC and will destroy the control-board and mist-maker. These Opti-Myst fires are a great idea--Very Crappily made, with cheapo components. Dimplex don't help as they are profiteering on the cost of the idea--And the spares, IMHO.
