All of its motifs and characterizations are quite pertinent, and they are even more meaningful now than they were when the film was first produced. Ben Stiller showed great foresight in the making of this picture.

ADMIN MOD. Why "Tropic Thunder" is a brilliant movie, in my opinion. Tropic Thunder is up on Netflix again, and it's a movie about movies. It starts out by showing how ridiculous movies were in the 90s, so it kind of dates itself there. Tropic Thunder is almost 10 years old. How did Robert Downey Jr. get by playing Lincoln Osiris in Tropic Thunder (2008)? Now-a-days people are finding actions in the past (10, 20, 30 years) and bring things up, causing people to be fired, ostracized, and even grilled by congress. Even questioning why "blackface" is always a bad thing got someone fired.
Especially if you are a fan) World's End. The World's End is my favourite of the three. It is great. Despite being a huge horror fan, Hot Fuzz takes the top spot for me. If you are looking for an extremely quotable and memorable funny movie like that i would recommend Macgruber, Hot Rod, Nacho Libre, Semi-Pro.
Tropic Thunder couldn't be made today, people would say, "This is plagiarism, make your own movie." Clearly, for the same reasons it could get made when it was made. Just like blazing saddles could be made today, just like how it was made back when it was made.

Its fuckin fantastic, and lampoons so much of modern bullshit that today people just cant understand what made it so good. TT doesnt give a fuck, about movies or race or sexuality or any goddamn thing people in this era white knight about. it’s so real it seems fake.
