Vijayashanti (born 24 June 1966) is an Indian actress, film producer and politician. In a film career spanning 40 years, she has acted in 187 feature films in a variety of roles in various languages predominantly in Telugu films, in addition to Tamil , Hindi , Kannada , and Malayalam films.
She became the highest-demanding heroine of India in the 1990s, equal to the demands of her co-stars Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan. The film song “Laloo Darwaja Laskar” from the movie ‘Mondi Mogudu Penki Pellam’ (1992) became her career-defining song.
