The correct way is to simply watch the first two films and leave it at that because the story ended with Terminator 2.Though if you are wanting more than just that, you have a Choose Your Own Adventure type of pathways. The halfassed sequels were. Terminator 3:Rise of the Machines.
Feb 28, 2022 · The Terminator 1984 remastered version is incredible. Got me all excited thinking there was a 4K version of this I hadn't heard about. The picture quality is a big improvement, but I do think they went overboard with the teal-tinted color grading. I wish MGM would finally include the original 1984 mono mix for it someday.
Jan 2, 2021 · Terminator 2 probably got a 4K release because it's the best in the series. Terminator 1 was also really good, and Terminator 3 is widely regarded as crap... Makes sense T3 doesn't get a 4K release because it's a lower quality movie. The age of the movie matters less than the quality.

For its release on Ultra HD, Lightstorm, working with Park Road Post, has built a new 4K Digital Intermediate using recent 4K scans of the original camera negative (confirmed per Lightstorm). This footage has then been “optimized” by Park Road’s proprietary deep-learning algorithms.

May 9, 2022 · As a former owner of the Skynet Edition and the 4K, the Lionsgate blu-ray is the one I stuck with. It's still not perfect but it was the best of them all. It has a better transfer than the skynet edition but doesn't have as much DNR as the 4K. This is also the same disc that is in the Terminator 6 film collection if you wanted all of them.
In T2 we get an extact date of August 29,1997 which would validate T1s text. The issue with that is Cyberdyne was able to develop the technology much faster thanks to the T1 terminator. That would most likely mean that Judgment Day was moved up from Timeline 0. So a date around 2009 would make more sense.
