I can’t think of a reason why you should, I personally went full Zig, I don’t know enough about Jai’s current state to compare it’s development progress with Zig, but I seriously doubt it’s on par with Zig’s platform support, features and the general stability.
Jai wants to focus on ease of writing code, ease of debugging code, and compilation speed instead of safety. For example, Jai moves types-to-the-right. If you're going to be writing left-to-right like English, this just makes sense. It's what we should have had from the beginning.

I hear optimising compilers for C are famously small because the language has a close mapping to machine code. Obligatory Bakerposting too, cause I can't wait to hear about the first CVE for some software written in Jai.

Aug 23, 2020 · From what I understand, "JAI" comes from the initials of the three people doing most of the work on the language, J for Jonathan Blow. However, because Jonathan Blow's the one doing most of the talking about the language, he's become so strongly associated with it that I couldn't even find a resource that lists the other developers.
