Offered up in its original widescreen 2.20:1 ratio which at times seems deceptively wider only because of the long slow tracking shots of the Discovery in space. It's encoded at 1080p using the VC1 codec. Earlier releases of 2001 suffered badly from unacceptable transfers.

One of the many cutaways of the final designs of the various spacecraft, showing Kubrick’s legendary obsession for detail, in his quest to depict an utterly realistic and functional environment.

I recently purchased the fantastic 2001: A Space Odyssey on 4K UHD Blu-ray as I'd heard how outstanding it was; indeed watching it on my LG OLED, it does look absolutely fantastic, but playing it on my XBox One S the feature only plays in HDR not Dolby Vision as advertised on the sleeve.
