Tung graduated from the first horse-riding class of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, and once became a professional jockey in Britain and Singapore in 1958. In 1967, he joined Rediffusion Television as a horse-racing commentator, and then worked in Radio Television Hong Kong in the 70s.
Mar 14, 2006 · Bill Tung, who appeared with Jackie Chan in Rumble in the Bronx and Police Story, died of lung illness on February 22 at the age of 72. Known affectionately as Uncle Bill, Tung was married four times, and is survived by three sons, three daughters and 12 grandchildren. Jackie Chan offered condolences to Tung's family.
