Over the past months I've seen posts and comments about how Chris used to work day and night on Kenshi, almost being homeless even, but despite that he delivered the game. The studio is much larger than before now, but that doesn't mean they can't be having difficulties.
I am Chris Hunt Indie game developer at Lo-Fi Games, creator of Kenshi - AMA! Hi! I am working on Kenshi, a squad-based sandbox RPG with RTS element. I started the project solo, somewhere between 6-8 years ago. The first 4ish years I spent working alone whilst working 2 nights a week as a part-time security guard, living the cheap life.

Jan 13, 2023 · Chris Hunt said no Early Access for Kenshi 2 because he doesn't need the funding, that's more honesty than many game companies out there. Chris hunt is, however, probably pretty tired of developing the Kenshi world after spending nearly 2 decades on it.

Kenshi is just such a mindful game where every moment is working towards some greater goal (leveling a skill, earning money, traveling through spectacular landscapes, etc.). It's great for making you feel grounded with something to aim for. Kenshi is one of those games I was on the fence about.
Okay, Kenshi took 12 years to make, and Kenshi 2 started development in March 2019. By March 2024 the game would have been in development for five years. Since Chris Hunt has had help making 2, would a good estimate be to assume Kenshi 2 is coming out either next year march, or 2025 march? : r/Kenshi Go to Kenshi r/Kenshi r/Kenshi
