  7. Oct 9, 2014 · We don’t need it.’. Although the ‘unnamed’ village is only three miles from the market town of Clitheroe, we’re in Lancashire’s finest countryside. It’s too dramatic to be called pretty and Downham, for all its limestone beauty, is too ‘natural’ to decorate a chocolate box. That’s not a criticism.
