Griffin is a city in and the county seat of Spalding County, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 23,478. Griffin was founded in 1840 and named for landowner Col. Lewis Lawrence Griffin.

- UGA Research and Education Garden. The Research and Education Garden is a 26-hectare botanic gardens routinely open to the public despite its association with the University of Georgia’s Griffin Campus.
Since its founding in 1840, the Griffin-Spalding area has grown from a railroad boomtown to a must-see destination steeped in small-town charm that's great for getaways and exploration, just south of Atlanta.

Jun 21, 2022 · Doc Holiday Festival. The Summer season is almost gone, however there are many events that you must see before we get into the Fall season. My family attended an event called “Doc Holiday Festival” in a small town called Griffin, Ga., South of Atlanta, Ga.

Griffin is a city of 23,000 (2020) in Central Georgia near Atlanta. It is the southernmost town included in the Atlanta Metro Area and has held on vehemently to its "small town" appeal. At the same time the town is being forced into modernization.
