Krefeld (/ ˈ k r eɪ f ɛ l d,-ɛ l t / KRAY-feld, -felt, [3] [4] [5] [6] German: [ˈkʁeːfɛlt] ⓘ; Limburgish: Krieëvel [ˈkʀiə˦vəl]), also spelled Crefeld until 1925 (though the spelling was still being used in British papers throughout the Second World War), [7] is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
- Burg Linn. In the eastern suburb of Linn is the oldest castle on the Lower Rhine. Burg Linn was raised by the local landowner Otto von Linn in the 1100s and by the 1400s was one of the largest moated castles in the region.
