    Bukit Panjang has an estimated HDB resident population of 121,100, and consists of a mix of old and relatively new flats. We manage 35,325HDB flats within the town (as of 31 March 2018).

    The town name means ‘long stretches of hills’ in Malay, and true to its name, the town is lush with abundant greenery. To its south lies the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve where Singapore’s indigenous flora and fauna can be found, while to its east is the Central Water Catchment, a largely forested and hilly area.

    The town was initially known as Zhenghua, but was eventually renamed as many people were more familiar with its old name, Bukit Panjang. The name Zhenghua is preserved in the name of the flyover between Bukit Panjang Road and the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) as well as the Zhenghua Park.     Zhenghua Nature Park is a 13.5ha linear park which stretches for about 2.5km along the BKE, linking Bukit Panjang town to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. The park is a popular place for residents to enjoy a leisurely walk or cycle. A 3.8ha extension was opened in 2015, bringing the total area of Zhenghua Nature Park to 17.3ha.
