The movie, “I am Sam,” is a journey to convince a reluctant society to trust someone who is mentally challenged with the responsibility of parenthood. I know that most parents struggle to make wise decisions for the welfare of their child. The message of “I am Sam” is more than your typical get-out-the-handkerchief movie.
Positive —Surprising movie. I enjoyed “I am Legend” for the fact it rises above many other zombie type films of its genre. Will Smith does an excellent job in his portrayal of the possibility of being the last man on Earth. You do feel his loneliness; his isolation and his incredible bond to the only organic companion left with him.
Feb 18, 2011 · Yes, the movie does have some language, a bit of violence, and maybe a few poorly dressed females; all in all, this movie lands its rating perfectly. The violence isn’t over the top, the language is kept to a minimum (consider “The Hangover” and its over 100 f-bombs), and, as for sexual content, it’s really non-existent.

Positive —This movie was excellent!!! Very inspiring. It will take you through your inner emotions. I can sympathize with the young lady. It’s usually the good people that get taken advantage of. I will keep this movie in my thoughts and and prayers. My Ratings: Moral rating: Excellent! / Moviemaking quality: 5
I am a forgiving Marvel fan from way back. I collected the comics, watched the subpar cartoons of the late 70s and 80s, endured the dark ages of the 90s. Was thrilled by Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, multiple X-Men, and two Hulk movies of the early 2000s, and really counted myself blessed to make it to Iron Man and the birth of the MCU starting in 2008 and watch many of them with my kids.
The movie was OK. “Toy Story” was better. My sons, ages 6 and 9, thought it was good. If Michael Jordan was not in the movie it would have flopped. It was a fun movie for kids, nothing offensive, except for the scene with the fortune teller. Charles Barkley praying in a church was a nice example for the kids.
Sep 23, 2011 · Negative —Let’s review the movie in context: The Great Commission is in Mark 16:15-18. This movie is not a reflection of what Christians are called to do. The hardships suffered by the character Sam clearly show he is out of step with the commission Jesus commanded. The disciples of Jesus were armed with the word of truth and the Love of God.
Even when David trusts someone and they hurt him or betray him, he always comes away with something that helps him on his journey. This movie has so many themes that sparked discussion with the teens, such as faith, trust and perseverance. This is a great movie to use in the classroom or at home with your kids. I would highly recommend it.
Dec 14, 2012 · The only negative is that it was a little long. I think the movie was about 2 hours and 45 minutes, and they could have easily cut about 30 minutes out of the movie. The violence was pretty heavy, considering The Hobbit had the least violence of all of the books. This movie had more violence than each of “The Lord of the Rings” movies.
