Jul 30, 2019 · Leave encashment generally has to be computed on the basis of monthly basic gross salary last drawn (excluding any arrears, occasional incentives like production/sales incentive, OT etc.), divided by 30 days, multiplied by no.of days of leave encashed. Annual charges not payable on monthly salary towards bonus contribution, gratuity, ESI etc ...
I would like to know If the employer company wants to pay leave encashment to its employees what would be the basis of calculation. Say number of leaves available for encashment to employee= 25 days. Some company using the formula to evaluate leave encashment : Gross/30*No. of Days (EL). In my opinion you have to use the first formula i.e. Basic/26*No. Days (EL).
