What is DMC?
DMC was founded in 1746 in France, with their iconic thread Mouliné Spécial being created in 1898. DMC strives to create its threads with the same colours every time, allowing you to create embroidery with the exact same colours as people who embroidered with the early DMC threads.
What makes DMC threads so special?
DMC threads are made up of six strands, allowing you to add complexity to your embroidery by choosing how many strands you use. They are colourfast, so they can be washed without fear of any fading, plus the dyes used to colour each thread are fade-resistant, so they should remain bright and vibrant for generations!
How many colours of DMC thread are there?
There are 500 DMC thread colours available, with each batch always matching the previous one to give you consistently coloured strands every time you use them.
